Frosty & Fox was born in the Summer of 2020, over 2021 we have developed the Hawker House brand alongside Tony Scott & Stonegrill NZ to produce a truly unique East meets West, street food & Stonegrill experience.

Our menu features New Zealand’s original Asian fusion Stonegrill Bentos, so diners can experience Stonegrill in a new and exciting form.

Stonegrill allows us not only to operate our wages at a lower percentage than our competitors, it also ensures we can cut our ticket times and ensure a higher efficiency to our service. The fresh concept, and amazing Stonegrill cooking method, ensures our guests not only come to eat, but come for an interactive dining experience.

From families (the kids love learning to cook on the Stonegrill) to the oldies and couples alike, everyone loves to get involved. Our fusion Stonegrill menu showcases not only individual classics but sharing plates, bentos, fondues & street food, Stonegrill is great for dietary requirements and the ultimate in healthy cooking, with no added fats or oils.

We ensure our wastage stays to an absolute minimum, using rolled meats, smoking & portion control which allows us to keep good food costs in a climate where costs are ever rising!

Stonegrill has brought in a new clientele

We have had Stonegrill for three years now and it has been a fantastic addition to our menu.

Customer reaction has been really positive for the tastiest dining experience around. Tourists who know the brand search us out and it has become very popular with many of our locals. For some, the concept takes a bit to get their head around but once they have tried it they are hooked.

Stonegrill has brought in a new clientele who love the taste and Stonegrill dining experience – they become regular customers and introduce their friends and family to the concept and to The Honest Lawyer. It makes going out for dinner something really special.

The support we get from Stonegrill, including staff training, menu ideas, and equipment, is great and I feel very privileged to be able to provide this option to my patrons.

To say that Stonegrill encourages repeat business to Degree Bar would be such an understatement, we have guests who dine with us weekly, never deviating away from their favourite meal, to the point where we can have it delivered to the table as they seat, from watching them walk through the car park.

We even have regulars whom dine annually with us from many different countries around the world.

The uplift was immediate and as you are aware we required the use of a second oven simply to keep up with demand. Combine this with a high degree of both back up service and technical advice and there is little doubt that Stonegrill is, and will remain a big part of our business positioning for a long time to come.

Without Stonegrill we would have lost customers

I’m pleased to say with Stonegrill any trained member of the staff can step in and serve a quality Stonegrill meal without the assistance of the Chef at anytime. Without Stonegrill we would have lost customers because the waiting time for other A-la-carte or Bistro meals would have been too great for some customers.

I sincerely believe that the newly found success at the renovated Leagues Club can be fully attributed to the inclusion of Stonegrill Dining at the Restaurant. In fact Stonegrill has generally helped the Club with increased patronage, memberships and wine sales; apparently the best figures they have seen in years.

It is extremely likely that a second Stonegrill oven will be needed very soon to keep up with demand on busy nights. What makes it so good for me is seeing return business as well as diners new to the Stonegrill concept enjoying their meals. With Stonegrill we can guarantee the quality of our product at all times.

Customer acceptance and reaction to the Stonegrill has been excellent. Liquor sales per cover have also risen by 40% as our Stonegrill customers now include a higher proportion of more affluent patrons and the serving staff take more covers, have more time to serve drinks and earn better tips. Last month our food cost was 26% and kitchen wages 21% – down 11.

I have had some very interesting feedback from our restaurant patrons – the most common are – very healthy, not expensive, able to dine out more frequently, fast service, no waiting for meal to be cooked in kitchen, cooked the way they like it and adds a new taste to food.

Perhaps the best testimony we can offer is that having initially purchased a 72 stone oven in April demand forced us to purchase another 72 stone oven only 2 months later.

Stonegrill gave our Restaurant the rejuvenation it needed after trading for 10 years. We enjoy the fact we offer a unique product which is easy to manage.

The speed and service is unbelievable. We had a group of eight dining and one arrived very late as the others started their mains. It took us thirty seconds to serve him with his steak. As Maddisons is situated within a licensed club our price structure has to be very competitive and most of our customers are club members. We have established a group of clientele who come especially for Stonegrill only on a regular basis, for some it is their regular dine out treat. We have purchased another system 72 within the first six months of the first unit.

Business is booming thanks to Stonegrill

Prior to taking up the Stonegrill franchise our trade was very irregular due to us being a little way out of town and relying too much on local support. Thanks mainly to Stonegrill our business has nearly doubled and our quality is easier to control. The kitchen works easier and quicker and kitchen costs have been reduced. Better still is the satisfaction of the Diner with the product.

Expanded from two outlets to 20

I was introduced to this healthy style of cooking in Australia. When I visited my sister three years ago, she took me to a Stonegrill restaurant. At first I was sceptical about the product. I mean, cooking on a stone?

The following year when I went back, I realised that they had expanded from two outlets to 20. I figured this was a good business venture, and bought the Stonegrill franchise for Malaysia and Singapore.

Profitable since the second month of operation

We opened the first Stonegrill Restaurant at one of the most difficult times in the history of Hong Kong’s economy. But we started to become profitable since the second month of operation. We surprised the industry. We became famous for our immediate success. We are going to open the second shop in December 99, and the third and fourth one are under planning.

Village Grill Restaurant has been opened for almost 2 years now. And can you believe our profit margin has increased in the last 2 months ( since Stonegrill was introduced) more than ever before.

Yes, we would bring this dining experience to Manila!

I was in Taipei when I experienced my first Stonegrill meal. It made such an impression on me that when I got back to Manila I got my friends together and share with them my memories of that dinner. Before I knew it, we all flew to Australia and ate in the original restaurant where Stonegrill was perfected. Everybody agreed: Yes, we would bring this dining experience to Manila!

My business has completely turned around

My figures have doubled and at times tripled and my return custom is incredible. The most common comment by nearly everyone is ‘that was fantastic, we will be back’ (and they are – regularly). I can train anyone that has good common sense and a flare for food to do the work in the kitchen.
